Transforming Content Management with an Enterprise-Ready Drupal Solution

As a provider of a comprehensive suite of cloud-based applications that support business intelligence and marketing automation, its website acts as a marketing hub where users can access individual product websites and find product pricing, user guides and other relevant information. With more than 2,000 pages hosted entirely on static files and no content management system (CMS) in place, managing its digital content was inefficient and resource intensive. Because the website used static files, the marketing and technical writing teams had to rely on technical teams to manually add and edit content and alter the layout design, which led to bottlenecks.

As the business expanded and the number of pages grew, the labor-intensive and error-prone process of creating and administering the static files became unmanageable, hampering efforts to scale the digital presence. To resolve these issues, the organization partnered with Material to transition from a non-CMS environment to a scalable Drupal-based CMS platform that could simplify content management and introduce direct page rendering for more efficient content delivery.

  • Developed a structured, scalable CMS that allowed efficient content management without technical dependencies so that the client could manage its existing architecture and scale effortlessly as the business grows

  • Defined user roles and permissions, giving product teams specific rights to ensure secure and organized content management

  • Provided customizable editorial workflows to enable automated/dynamic content management with role-based access control, which streamlined content review and publishing

  • Developed an easy-to-use user interface that allowed marketing and technical writing teams to update content seamlessly

  • Enabled content creation from multiple sources so that teams could easily add blog posts and HTML-based content within product pages

  • Built a fully responsive layout that ensured a consistent, optimized user experience across mobile, tablet and desktop devices

  • Automated the migration process to prevent data loss, using scripts to scrape, extract and clean content before seamlessly populating the new CMS

By migrating from a non-CMS environment to an enterprise-grade Drupal platform, the client gained a scalable, future-ready content management system. Managing more than 2,000 pages and 30 applications is now faster and more efficient, eliminating process bottlenecks.

With role-based access, teams can now independently create, edit and publish content without technical dependencies while maintaining operational efficiency. Automated workflows and real-time page rendering have eliminated delays and prevented discrepancies between the CMS and live pages. The client has full control and flexibility on end-to-end content management, from production to distribution to archiving.

By ensuring content growth without performance degradation, the scalable platform supports the company’s expanding product portfolio. As a result, our client has established a high-quality, cohesive digital presence, making content management more agile and scalable.
